Background

I come from a family of modest means, and my parents always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. Growing up, I was fascinated by the world of literature and history. I spent most of my childhood reading books and watching documentaries. This curiosity eventually led me to choose kannada Literature as my optional subject for the UPSC exam.

Study Plan

My study plan was quite rigorous. I started preparing for the exam 2 years in advance. I created a detailed schedule, allocating specific time slots for each subject. I also made sure to revise my notes regularly. I used to study for 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week. I also made sure to take breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my physical and mental health.

Challenges

The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was time management. With a full-time job and other responsibilities, it was tough to balance my study schedule. I also faced difficulties in understanding some of the concepts, but I was determined to overcome them. I used to take online classes and attend coaching sessions to clarify my doubts.

Strategies

To overcome the challenges, I adopted a few strategies. Firstly, I prioritized my tasks and focused on the most important ones. I also made sure to review my notes regularly and practice previous year's questions. I also used to take mock tests to assess my performance and identify areas of improvement.

Interview Experience

The interview experience was quite nerve-wracking. I was asked a mix of general awareness and subject-specific questions. I made sure to stay calm and composed throughout the process. I also made sure to answer the questions concisely and to the point.

Success

My success in the UPSC exam was a result of my hard work and determination. I never gave up, even when faced with challenges. I always believed in myself and my abilities. I also made sure to stay focused and motivated throughout the journey. My secret to success was staying consistent and persistent.
