Kartikeya Verma's Preparation Strategy

Background

I come from a middle-class family and was always fascinated by the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). My parents encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and I started preparing for the UPSC exam while still in college.

Study Plan

My study plan was quite rigorous, with a focus on completing the NCERT syllabus and then moving on to more advanced topics. I used to study for around 8-10 hours a day, with a mix of self-study and coaching classes.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges I faced was time management. With a full-time job and a family to take care of, it was difficult to balance my studies with other responsibilities. I also struggled with motivation at times, but I kept reminding myself of my goals and why I was working so hard.

Strategies

Key to success: Consistency and perseverance. I used to study every day, without fail, and made sure to review my notes regularly. I also joined a test series to get a feel of the actual exam and to identify my weaknesses.
