Kritika Goyal Preparation Strategy & Insights

Background

I come from a family of bureaucrats, with my father being a judge and my sister an IPS officer. Growing up, I was exposed to the world of civil services and was fascinated by the impact it had on society. I pursued a law degree, which further solidified my interest in the field.

Study Plan

I started preparing for the UPSC exam after completing my law degree. I joined Vajiram & Ravi, a well-known coaching institute, and began my journey. My study plan was rigorous, with a focus on both theory and practice. I gave around 50-60 mock tests before the actual exam, which helped me gauge my performance and identify areas of improvement.

Challenges

The journey was not without its challenges. I faced setbacks and failures, but I never lost sight of my goal. Perseverance was key, and I made sure to stay motivated and focused. I also made sure to take breaks and engage in activities that helped me relax and recharge.

Strategies

My strategy involved a combination of theory and practice. I made sure to cover all the topics thoroughly, but also focused on my weaknesses. I used various resources, including books, online materials, and mock tests, to prepare for the exam. I also joined a study group, which helped me stay motivated and engaged.

Interview Experience

The interview was a challenging experience, but I was well-prepared. I was asked a mix of general and DAF questions, and I made sure to answer them confidently. I was also asked about my views on civil services and how I saw its future, which was a great opportunity to showcase my knowledge and skills.

Success

Securing Rank 14 was a dream come true. It was a culmination of all my hard work and dedication. I was overjoyed and relieved, and it was a moment I will cherish forever. My success is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work, and I hope it inspires others to pursue their dreams.
