AIR 772 • UPSC CSE 2022 • Optional: Chemistry
I come from a small town in Andhra Pradesh. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of politics and governance. I remember watching news channels and reading newspapers with my parents, discussing current events and analyzing the impact of policies on society. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in Political Science from a local college.
After completing my degree, I started preparing for the UPSC CSE exam. I joined a coaching institute and began attending classes regularly. My study plan was quite rigorous, with a focus on covering the entire syllabus in a systematic manner. I spent around 12-14 hours a day studying, with a break of 2-3 hours for meals and relaxation. My strategy was to cover all the subjects equally, with a focus on the optional subject - Chemistry.
The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was time management. With a demanding study schedule, it was difficult to maintain a work-life balance. I had to sacrifice my social life and hobbies to focus on my studies. Additionally, the pressure to perform well in the exam was immense, which led to stress and anxiety at times.
To overcome these challenges, I employed several strategies. Firstly, I created a study schedule that allowed me to cover all the subjects in a timely manner. I also made sure to take regular breaks to avoid burnout. Secondly, I joined a study group to discuss topics and clarify doubts with my peers. This helped me stay motivated and engaged throughout the preparation period.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and anxiety. I was well-prepared for the interview, having practiced with mock interviews and studied the previous year's papers. However, I was still nervous about the outcome. The interview panel asked me a range of questions, from my optional subject to current events and policy issues. I tried to answer each question to the best of my ability, drawing from my knowledge and experiences.
Securing AIR 772 in the UPSC CSE 2022 exam was a dream come true for me. It was the culmination of all my hard work and dedication. I was overjoyed and relieved when I heard the news, and my family and friends were equally thrilled. This achievement has motivated me to continue pursuing my passion for public service and governance.
