Preparation Strategy

Background

I still remember the day I cracked the UPSC exam. It was a dream come true for me, and I was on cloud nine. But little did I know that this was just the beginning of my journey. I had always been fascinated by the world of politics and governance, and I wanted to make a difference in society. So, I decided to pursue a career in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).\n\n### Study Plan My study plan was quite rigorous, to say the least. I used to wake up at 5 am every day and start my day with a 2-hour study session. I would then take a break and have breakfast before resuming my studies. My focus was on clearing my concepts and building a strong foundation in all subjects. I used to study for around 8-10 hours a day, with a 1-hour break in between.\n\n### Challenges There were many challenges that I faced during my preparation. One of the biggest challenges was managing my time effectively. I had to balance my studies with other activities like exercise, meditation, and spending time with family and friends. I also had to deal with self-doubt and fear of failure, which were major obstacles in my journey.\n\n### Strategies So, how did I overcome these challenges? Well, I used a combination of strategies that worked for me. Time management was key to my success. I created a schedule and stuck to it, making sure that I allocated sufficient time for each subject and activity. I also used active learning techniques like making flashcards, creating concept maps, and summarizing notes in my own words. Mock tests were another crucial part of my strategy. I used to take mock tests every week to assess my progress and identify areas where I needed improvement.\n\n### Interview Experience The interview was a nerve-wracking experience, but I was well-prepared for it. I had practiced my responses to common interview questions and had a clear idea of my strengths and weaknesses. Confidence was key to acing the interview. I made sure that I was confident in my answers and didn't hesitate to speak up. I also made sure that I was respectful and courteous to the interview panel.\n\n### Success So, what was the secret to my success? It was a combination of hard work, determination, and the right strategies. I had a clear vision of what I wanted to achieve, and I was willing to put in the effort required to get there. I also had a strong support system, which included my family, friends, and mentors. Believe in yourself is the key to success. If you don't believe in yourself, no one else will.\n\n### Key Points
