Background

I still remember the day I decided to take the UPSC Civil Services Examination. It was a turning point in my life, and I was determined to crack it. I had always been fascinated by the Indian Administrative Service and wanted to serve the nation. I started preparing for the exam while pursuing my graduation, and it was a challenging yet rewarding experience.

Study Plan

My study plan was quite comprehensive. I followed a structured approach, dividing my time between current affairs, static subjects, and practice questions. I used to spend around 8-10 hours a day studying, and I made sure to take breaks in between to avoid burnout. I also joined a coaching institute, ForumIAS MGP+ 2023, which provided me with a lot of guidance and support.

Challenges

The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was time management. With a lot of material to cover, it was difficult to prioritize and manage my time effectively. I also struggled with self-doubt and anxiety, which affected my motivation and confidence. But I didn't give up. I kept pushing myself, and with each passing day, I became more confident and determined.

Strategies

One of the most effective strategies I used was creating a template for answers. This helped me to write answers quickly and efficiently, which was a huge time-saver. I also made sure to read a lot of books and articles to improve my knowledge and understanding of various subjects. I also practiced a lot of mock interviews, which helped me to improve my communication skills and confidence.

Interview Experience

The interview experience was a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and anxiety. I was well-prepared, but I still had some doubts and fears. But as soon as I started speaking, I realized that I was in control. I answered all the questions confidently and to the best of my abilities. The interview panel was very supportive and encouraging, which made me feel more at ease.

Success

Securing All India Rank 80 was a dream come true for me. It was a culmination of all my hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I was overjoyed and relieved at the same time. I knew that I had given my best, and the result was a reflection of my efforts. I am grateful to my family, friends, and mentors who supported me throughout my journey.
