AIR 50 • UPSC CSE 2023 • Optional: Sociology
I was born and brought up in Bengaluru, and I have always been fascinated by the world of governance and public service. My parents encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and I was determined to crack the UPSC CSE exam.
My study plan was quite rigorous, and I followed a structured approach. I started by preparing for the General Studies (GS) papers, focusing on current events, history, and geography. I also prepared for the optional subject, Sociology, which was my favorite subject. I used to study for around 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was managing my time effectively. I had to balance my studies with my job, which was quite demanding. I also faced setbacks and failures, but I never gave up. I learned to stay positive and focused.
My strategy was to rely on topper copies and study materials. I took names of scholars, Srishti Deshmukh Ma'am, Neha Bhonsle Ma'am, Gunjita Agarwal ma'am, and followed their strategies. I also prepared for the mock interviews, which helped me to improve my communication skills.
The interview experience was quite challenging, but I was well-prepared. I was asked questions on current events, history, and sociology. I was able to answer most of the questions confidently, and I was able to showcase my knowledge and skills.
Securing All India Rank 50 was a dream come true for me. I was overjoyed and relieved at the same time. I knew that all my hard work and dedication had paid off. I am grateful to my parents, teachers, and friends who supported me throughout my journey.
