AIR 872 • UPSC CSE 2023 • Optional: Geography
I come from a middle-class family in Hyderabad, and my parents always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I was fascinated by the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and decided to crack the UPSC exam.
My study plan was quite rigorous, with a focus on Geography and General Studies. I used to wake up at 5 am every day and start studying. I followed a structured approach, covering all the topics in my syllabus and making notes. I also used to practice previous year's question papers to get an idea of the exam pattern.
The biggest challenge I faced was managing my time effectively. With so much to study, it was difficult to prioritize my tasks. I also struggled with the optional subject, Geography, as it requires a lot of practical knowledge. But I was determined to succeed, and I worked hard to overcome these challenges.
My strategy was to focus on my weak areas and improve my understanding of the subject. I used to read a lot of books and articles on Geography and General Studies. I also used to attend coaching classes and interact with my peers to get their perspectives. I made sure to revise my notes regularly and practice previous year's question papers.
The interview was a nerve-wracking experience, but I was well-prepared. I had studied a lot about current events and was confident in my answers. The panel asked me a lot of questions on Geography and General Studies, and I was able to answer them confidently.
I was overjoyed when I received the news of my selection. It was a dream come true, and I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. I attribute my success to my hard work and dedication. I also believe that it's essential to stay focused and motivated throughout the journey.
