AIR 18 • UPSC CSE 2024 • Optional: Optional Subject
I still remember the day I decided to take the UPSC CSE exam. I was working as a Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Mirzapur, and I had always been fascinated by the idea of serving the nation through the civil services. I had heard stories about the exam's difficulty and the long hours of preparation required, but I was determined to give it a try.
My study plan was quite rigorous. I started by creating a schedule that covered all the subjects, including GS, CSAT, and Optional. I allocated specific time slots for each subject and made sure to stick to it. I also joined a coaching institute, ForumIAS, which provided me with a structured study plan and regular mocks.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was time management. With a full-time job and a family to take care of, it was difficult to balance my studies with other responsibilities. I had to sacrifice my social life and spend long hours studying, but it was worth it in the end.
My strategy for the exam was to focus on understanding the concepts rather than just memorizing the facts. I made sure to read the questions carefully and answer them to the best of my ability. I also practiced a lot of mocks to get a feel for the exam pattern and timing.
The interview was a great experience for me. I was nervous at first, but as the conversation progressed, I felt more comfortable. The panel asked me a range of questions, from my hobbies to my views on current events. I made sure to be confident and articulate in my responses.
Securing AIR 18 in the UPSC IAS Civil Services Examination was a dream come true for me. It was a result of my hard work and determination, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the nation through the civil services.
