UPSC Notification 2026: Reason for Delay and Expected Release
According to the UPSC Annual Calendar 2026, the notification was planned for January 14, 2026. However, it has been postponed due to administrative reasons.
The online application form will be activated only after the revised notification is released.
Important Note
The application window is usually short. Exam centers are allotted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Candidates should apply early to get their preferred city such as Delhi or Mumbai.

UPSC 2026 Vacancies (Expected)
The final number of vacancies will be announced in the official notification. Based on past trends, a good intake is expected.

Eligibility Criteria for IAS 2026
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on August 1, 2026.
1. Age Limit
- General / EWS: 21 to 32 years
- OBC: 21 to 35 years
- SC / ST: 21 to 37 years
- PwBD: 21 to 42 years
2. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a degree from a recognized university. Final-year students can also apply, provided they submit proof before Mains registration.
3. Number of Attempts
- General / EWS: 6 Attempts
- OBC: 9 Attempts
- SC / ST: Unlimited (till age limit)
