Background

I come from a family of entrepreneurs and was always drawn to the world of business. However, after completing my post-graduation in Industrial Psychology, I realized that I wanted to make a difference in society through public service.

• I had always been fascinated by the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the opportunities it offered to serve the nation.
• I started preparing for the UPSC CSE in my first year of post-graduation, but I failed to clear the exam in my first two attempts.

Study Plan

• My Study Plan: I created a detailed study plan that included reading NCERT books from class 6 to 12, following a rigorous schedule, and taking regular breaks.
• Time Management: I managed my time effectively by allocating specific time slots for each subject and topic.
• Note-making: I made detailed notes on each topic, which helped me to revise and retain the information better.

Challenges

• Lack of Guidance: I struggled to find a good guidance system, which made it difficult for me to stay on track.
• Self-Doubt: I often doubted my abilities and felt overwhelmed by the competition.
• Physical and Mental Health: I neglected my physical and mental health, which affected my performance.

Strategies

• Joining Shankar IAS Academy: I joined Shankar IAS Academy, which provided me with the guidance and support I needed.
• Mock Interviews: I took regular mock interviews, which helped me to improve my communication skills and presentation.
• Self-Study: I continued to study on my own, which helped me to fill in the gaps and reinforce my understanding.

Interview Experience

• Preparation: I prepared extensively for the interview, focusing on my strengths and weaknesses.
• Confidence: I worked on building my confidence, which helped me to perform better in the interview.
• Body Language: I made sure to maintain a positive body language, which conveyed my enthusiasm and interest.

Success

• AIR 253: I secured the All India Rank-253 in the UPSC CSE 2022, which was a dream come true.

• Indian Revenue Service: I was selected for the Indian Revenue Service, which was a great opportunity to serve the nation.

• Lessons Learned: I learned the importance of perseverance, hard work, and self-belief in achieving success.
