AIR 94 • UPSC CSE 2023 • Optional: PSIR
I come from a small town in Uttar Pradesh called Bhadohi. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of politics and governance. I remember spending hours watching news channels and reading newspapers with my father. He was a big influence on me, and I think that's where my interest in public service began.
My journey to becoming a UPSC topper was not easy. I had to work hard and be consistent. I started preparing for the exam about 2 years before the actual date. I made a study plan that included a mix of theory and practice. I would spend at least 8 hours a day studying, with a focus on GS papers and optional subjects like PSIR.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing my studies with other responsibilities. I had to work part-time to support my family, and at the same time, I had to prepare for the exam. It was tough, but I managed to stay motivated and focused.
I used a combination of online and offline resources to prepare for the exam. I would read books, articles, and online materials to stay updated with current events. I would also practice with previous year's question papers and mock tests to improve my answering skills.
My interview experience was a mix of emotions. I was nervous, but at the same time, I was confident that I had prepared well. The interview panel asked me a range of questions, from current events to my personal experiences. I tried to be honest and authentic in my responses.
I attribute my success to hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude. I believe that anyone can achieve their goals if they are willing to put in the effort.
