Preparation Strategy
Background
I come from a humble background, and my journey to becoming an IAS officer was not an easy one. I grew up in a small town in India, where opportunities were limited, and the competition was fierce. But I was determined to succeed, and I worked hard to achieve my dreams.
Study Plan
My study plan was quite rigorous, and I followed a strict schedule. I would wake up early every morning, around 5 am, and start my day with a 2-hour study session. I would then take a break and have breakfast, and then continue with my studies. I would take regular breaks throughout the day to refresh my mind and avoid burnout.
- I focused on my weak areas first, such as history and geography.
- I made a list of all the topics I needed to cover and created a timeline for my studies.
- I joined a coaching institute to get guidance and support from experienced teachers.
- I practiced mock tests and quizzes to assess my progress and identify areas for improvement.
Challenges
There were several challenges I faced during my preparation. One of the biggest challenges was time management. With a job and a family to take care of, it was difficult to find time to study. I had to be creative and find ways to study even when I was busy.
- I used my commute to study, listening to audiobooks and podcasts.
- I studied during my breaks at work, using my phone to access study materials.
- I involved my family in my studies, asking them to quiz me on my weak areas.
Strategies
I developed several strategies to help me succeed. One of the most important strategies was to stay focused and motivated. I set small goals for myself and rewarded myself when I achieved them. I also made sure to take care of my physical and mental health, exercising regularly and eating a balanced diet.

- I joined a study group to stay connected with my fellow aspirants and get support.
- I practiced mindfulness and meditation to reduce stress and anxiety.
Interview Experience
The interview experience was both exhilarating and intimidating. I had prepared well, but I was still nervous. The panel asked me a range of questions, from my personal life to my professional experience. I answered confidently and honestly, drawing on my experiences and skills.

Success
