AIR 10 • UPSC CSE 2024 • Optional: Anthropology
I've always been fascinated by the human experience and the complexities of culture. Growing up, I was exposed to various traditions and customs, which sparked my interest in Anthropology. I pursued my undergraduate degree in the subject, and it wasn't long before I realized that this was what I wanted to spend my life studying.
My study plan was meticulous and well-structured. I created a timeline for each subject, breaking down the syllabus into manageable chunks. I allocated specific time slots for revision and practice, ensuring that I didn't fall behind. I also made it a point to read beyond the textbooks, exploring various research papers and articles related to Anthropology.
The journey wasn't without its challenges, though. There were times when I felt overwhelmed by the sheer volume of material, and I struggled to stay motivated. But I didn't give up. I reminded myself why I started this journey in the first place – to make a difference in the field of Anthropology. I also sought help from my peers and mentors, who provided valuable guidance and support.
One of the key strategies that worked for me was creating a study group. We would meet regularly, discuss our progress, and help each other with difficult topics. I also made it a point to stay updated with current events, reading news articles and watching documentaries related to Anthropology. This helped me stay engaged and interested in the subject.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions – excitement, nervousness, and anticipation. I was well-prepared, having practiced my responses to common questions. But I was also aware that there was an element of unpredictability, and I had to be flexible. I took a deep breath, and as the interview began, I focused on providing thoughtful and insightful responses.
Securing rank 10 was a surreal experience. It was a culmination of all my hard work and dedication. I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing that I had achieved my goal. But I also knew that this was just the beginning – there was still so much to learn and explore in the field of Anthropology. I'm excited to see where this journey takes me next.
