Panchal Smit Hasmukhbhai Preparation Strategy & Insights

Background

I come from a family of modest means, where education was always valued. My parents encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and I was determined to become an IAS officer. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I was willing to put in the effort required to achieve my goal.

Study Plan

I started preparing for the UPSC exam about 2 years ago. I created a detailed study plan, which included a mix of classroom coaching, online courses, and self-study. I focused on building a strong foundation in all subjects, with a special emphasis on GS and CSAT. I also made sure to allocate sufficient time for current affairs and practice tests.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing my studies with other responsibilities. I had to work part-time to support my family, which made it difficult to dedicate long hours to studying. Additionally, I had to deal with self-doubt and anxiety, which threatened to derail my progress at times.

Strategies

To overcome these challenges, I developed a few strategies that worked well for me. Firstly, I made sure to prioritize my studies and stick to my schedule. I also joined a study group, which provided me with motivation and support. Furthermore, I learned to manage my time effectively, allocating specific slots for studying, working, and relaxation.

Interview Experience

The interview was a nerve-wracking experience, but I was well-prepared for it. I had practiced answering various questions, and I was confident in my knowledge. The panel asked me a mix of conventional and unconventional questions, but I was able to think on my feet and respond effectively.

Success

Looking back, I realize that my success in the UPSC exam was not just due to my hard work and determination. It was also due to the support of my family, friends, and mentors. They encouraged me to pursue my dreams, even when I doubted myself. I am grateful for their love and support, and I hope to make them proud in my future endeavors.
