AIR 70 • UPSC CSE 2022 • Optional: Medical Science
I come from a family of modest means, and my parents always encouraged me to pursue my dreams, no matter how impossible they seemed. I was fascinated by the field of Medical Science from a young age, and I knew that I wanted to make a career out of it. I spent countless hours reading about the subject, attending seminars, and participating in online forums to learn as much as I could.
Creating a study plan was crucial to my success. I broke down my syllabus into smaller chunks and allocated specific time slots for each topic. I made sure to review my notes regularly, practice problems, and take mock tests to assess my progress. I also joined a study group to collaborate with my peers and learn from their experiences.
There were several challenges that I faced during my preparation. One of the biggest hurdles was managing my time effectively. With a busy schedule and multiple responsibilities, it was tough to find time to study. I had to be extremely disciplined and prioritize my tasks to ensure that I stayed on track. Another challenge was dealing with self-doubt and anxiety. There were times when I felt overwhelmed and uncertain about my abilities, but I learned to overcome these feelings by focusing on my strengths and celebrating my small victories.
To overcome the challenges I faced, I employed several strategies. One of the most effective techniques was creating a routine and sticking to it. I made sure to wake up early every morning, exercise, and then dedicate a few hours to studying. I also used active learning techniques such as summarizing notes in my own words, creating concept maps, and making flashcards to reinforce my understanding. Additionally, I practiced mindfulness and meditation to manage my stress levels and stay focused.
The interview experience was both exhilarating and intimidating. I was nervous but determined to make the most of it. I arrived early, dressed professionally, and was ready to answer any question that came my way. The interview panel asked me a range of questions, from theoretical to practical, and I did my best to respond confidently and accurately. I was proud of myself for staying calm under pressure and showcasing my knowledge and skills.
Securing 70th rank in the Medical Science category was a dream come true for me. It was a testament to my hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I learned that success is not just about achieving a goal, but also about the journey that you take to get there. I realized that every challenge I faced was an opportunity to grow and learn, and that every setback was a stepping stone to success.
