AIR 712 • UPSC CSE 2022 • Optional: Geography
I come from a humble background and always had a passion for public service. Growing up, I was fascinated by the stories of my grandfather, who was a government official. He would often talk about the impact he had on people's lives and the sense of fulfillment he got from serving the nation.
I started preparing for the UPSC exam about 2 years before the actual date. I created a study plan that included a mix of theory and practice. I would spend around 8-10 hours a day studying, with a focus on Geography, History, and Polity. I also made sure to practice previous year's question papers and mock tests to get a feel of the exam pattern.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was maintaining a consistent study schedule. There were times when I felt like giving up, but I kept pushing myself. I also had to deal with self-doubt and imposter syndrome, but I tried to stay positive and focus on my goals.
I used a variety of strategies to stay motivated and focused. I would reward myself after completing a certain number of chapters or topics. I also joined a study group, which helped me stay accountable and motivated.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions. I was nervous, but I tried to stay calm and composed. I was asked a range of questions, from my favorite subject to my views on current events. I tried to be honest and authentic in my responses.
Securing rank 712 in the UPSC CSE 2022 was a dream come true. It was a culmination of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I am proud of myself for staying focused and motivated throughout the journey.
