Preparation Strategy
Background
I come from a family of bureaucrats and was always drawn to the idea of serving the nation. I pursued my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Hyderabad and was part of the college's debate team. During my college days, I was exposed to various social issues and was inspired to make a difference.
Study Plan
My study plan was quite rigorous and involved creating a detailed schedule for each day. I would wake up at 5 am every day and start with a 30-minute workout followed by a 1-hour breakfast break. I would then dedicate 4-5 hours to studying, taking regular breaks in between. I would focus on one subject at a time and make sure to revise all the topics before moving on to the next one.
Challenges
The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was time management. With a busy schedule and limited time, it was difficult to balance my studies with other activities. I also faced self-doubt and anxiety at times, but I managed to overcome them with the help of my friends and family.
Strategies
- Focus on Current Affairs: Staying updated with national and international news was crucial for my preparation. I would read newspapers and online articles every day to stay informed.
- Practice Mock Interviews: I would practice mock interviews with my friends and family to improve my communication skills and confidence.
- Join a Study Group: Joining a study group helped me stay motivated and focused. We would study together, discuss topics, and provide each other with support and encouragement.
Interview Experience
My interview experience was quite challenging. I was asked a range of questions, from general knowledge to specific topics related to my subject. I made sure to stay calm and composed throughout the interview and answered each question to the best of my ability.
Success
Securing AIR 217 in the UPSC CSE 2022 exam was a dream come true for me. It was a result of my hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I am proud to be a part of the IAS and look forward to serving the nation to the best of my abilities.\n\n### Conclusion My journey to becoming an IAS officer has been a long and challenging one. But it has also been incredibly rewarding. I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their dreams and never give up on their goals.
