Preparation Strategy
Background
I've always been fascinated by the world of governance and public policy. Growing up, I was exposed to various social and economic issues that sparked my interest in making a difference. As I delved deeper into the subject, I realized that the Indian Civil Services was the perfect platform to bring about positive change.
Study Plan
My journey began with a clear understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus. I created a detailed study plan, allocating specific time slots for each subject. I focused on building a strong foundation in General Studies, with a emphasis on current events and geopolitics. I also made sure to stay updated on the latest developments in the field of PSIR.
Challenges
However, the journey was not without its challenges. There were times when I felt overwhelmed by the sheer amount of material to cover. I had to constantly remind myself to stay focused and motivated. But I didn't let setbacks discourage me. Instead, I used them as opportunities to learn and grow.
Strategies
One of my key strategies was to join a study group. We would meet regularly to discuss our progress, share notes, and engage in group discussions. This not only helped me stay on track but also provided a much-needed support system. I also made sure to take regular breaks to recharge and avoid burnout.
Interview Experience
The interview panel consisted of three members, each with a different area of expertise. They asked me a range of questions, from my understanding of the Indian Constitution to my views on foreign policy. I was prepared for the questions, but I was still nervous. However, I managed to stay calm and composed, and I think that's what made my interview experience stand out.
Success
Securing rank 198 was a surreal moment for me. It was the culmination of months of hard work and dedication. I realized that my efforts had paid off, and I was one step closer to achieving my dream. I'm grateful for the experience and the lessons I learned along the way.
