AIR 136 • UPSC CSE 2022 • Optional: Electrical Engineering
I come from a small town in Odisha, where I was raised by my parents who were both government employees. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the impact it has on the country. I knew that I wanted to become an IAS officer from a young age, but I didn't know how to go about it.
When I started preparing for the UPSC CSE, I knew that I had to create a structured study plan. I started by making a list of all the topics that I needed to cover, and then I broke them down into smaller chunks. I allocated specific time slots for each topic, and I made sure to stick to my plan as much as possible. I also made sure to take regular breaks and practice self-care.
One of the biggest challenges I faced during my preparation was time management. I had to balance my studies with my work and other responsibilities, and it was often difficult to find the time to study. I also faced a lot of self-doubt and anxiety, especially during the initial stages of my preparation.
Despite the challenges, I was determined to succeed. I used a variety of strategies to stay motivated and focused, including setting realistic goals, creating a study schedule, and tracking my progress. I also made sure to take regular breaks and practice self-care, which helped me to stay energized and motivated.
When I finally got the call for the interview, I was both excited and nervous. I had prepared for the interview by practicing my responses to common questions and by researching the current events and issues. During the interview, I was asked a variety of questions, including questions about my background, my interests, and my goals.
Despite the challenges and setbacks, I was determined to succeed. I worked hard and stayed focused, and eventually, I achieved my goal of becoming a UPSC CSE topper. I am proud of what I have accomplished, and I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their dreams.

Looking back on my journey, I realize that becoming a UPSC CSE topper was not just about passing the exam, but about developing a growth mindset and staying committed to my goals. I hope that my story can inspire others to pursue their dreams and to never give up on their goals.
