Background

Growing up in Kaimur (Bhabua) district in the state of Bihar, I always had a strong desire to serve the nation. My parents and teachers encouraged me to pursue a career in civil services. I completed my engineering and started preparing for UPSC without taking any placement. I chose Geography as my optional subject and managed to crack the civil services exam.

Study Plan

My study plan was quite rigorous. I used to wake up early in the morning and start studying. I would cover the entire syllabus and then revise it multiple times. I also used to attend mock interviews and practice my communication skills. I made sure to stay focused and motivated throughout my preparation.

Challenges

The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was time management. I had to balance my studies with other activities like attending mock interviews and practicing my communication skills. I also had to deal with self-doubt and anxiety. But I never gave up and kept pushing myself to work harder.

Strategies

I used various strategies to prepare for the exam. I made sure to read the syllabus thoroughly and understand the exam pattern. I also used to attend mock interviews and practice my communication skills. I made sure to stay focused and motivated throughout my preparation. I also used to take breaks and engage in physical activities to keep myself healthy and energized.

Interview Experience

My interview experience was quite challenging. I was asked a lot of questions about my optional subject and my knowledge about current events. But I was well-prepared and was able to answer all the questions confidently. I made sure to stay calm and composed throughout the interview.

Success

Securing All India Rank 500 in UPSC Civil Services Exam 2022 was a dream come true for me. It was a result of my hard work and determination. I am proud to be a part of the civil services and I am committed to serving the nation to the best of my abilities.
