Preparation Strategy

Background

I come from a small town in Rajasthan, Jhunjhunu, where opportunities are limited. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) and wanted to make a difference in society. I pursued my post-graduation in M.Sc. Economics (Hons.) and started preparing for the IAS exam.

Study Plan

My study plan was quite disciplined. I used to wake up at 5:00 AM every day and start studying. I would cover all the subjects, including General Studies, Optional, and Current Affairs. I also used to read newspapers and watch news channels to stay updated with current events. My optional subject was PSIR (Political Science and International Relations).

Challenges

The biggest challenge I faced was maintaining my motivation and focus throughout the preparation period. There were times when I felt like giving up, but I kept pushing myself. I also had to deal with self-doubt and imposter syndrome, but I worked on building my confidence.

Strategies

My strategy was to focus on one subject at a time. I would create a study plan and stick to it. I also used to take breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my physical and mental health. I used to read books and articles related to my optional subject to deepen my understanding.

Interview Experience

The interview experience was quite challenging. I was asked a lot of questions related to my optional subject and current events. I was also asked about my personal experiences and how they relate to the IAS exam. I tried to be as honest and authentic as possible.

Success

My success can be attributed to my hard work and dedication. I never gave up, even when things seemed impossible. I also had the support of my family and friends, which motivated me to keep going.
