AIR 578 • UPSC CSE 2023 • Optional: Mechanical Engineering
Growing up, I was always fascinated by the way the government works and the impact it has on people's lives. I wanted to be a part of it and make a difference. I pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering, which I thought would give me a solid foundation for a career in the public sector.
I started preparing for the UPSC exam a year before the actual test. I created a detailed study plan, which included a mix of theory and practice. I focused on understanding the concepts, rather than just memorizing them. I also made sure to revise regularly and take breaks to avoid burnout.
The biggest challenge I faced was time management. With a full-time job and a family to take care of, it was difficult to find time to study. I had to be very disciplined and prioritize my tasks. Another challenge was staying motivated. There were times when I felt like giving up, but I pushed through and reminded myself of my goals.
To overcome the challenges, I employed several strategies. I created a study group with fellow aspirants, which helped me stay motivated and learn from others. I also joined online forums and discussion groups, where I could ask questions and get feedback. I made sure to take care of my physical and mental health, which is essential for maintaining focus and productivity.
The interview experience was nerve-wracking, but it was also an opportunity to showcase my skills and knowledge. I prepared thoroughly for the interview, by practicing my responses to common questions and researching current events. I also made sure to dress professionally and arrive early.
Securing rank 578 in the UPSC 2023 examination was a dream come true. It was the result of hard work, determination, and perseverance. I learned that success is not just about achieving a goal, but also about the journey you take to get there. I am grateful for the experience and the lessons I learned along the way.
