Background

Growing up, I was always fascinated by the idea of serving the nation and making a difference in people's lives. I pursued a degree in computer science from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, and after completing my studies, I worked with KPMG for a brief period. However, I soon realized that my true calling was in the civil services. I decided to take the UPSC CSE exam and dedicate myself to preparing for it.

Study Plan

My study plan was quite rigorous, and I followed a structured approach to my preparation. I started by creating a detailed timeline and breaking down my study material into manageable chunks. I focused on understanding the concepts and building a strong foundation in each subject. I also made sure to revise regularly and practice as many questions as possible.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges I faced during my preparation was time management. With a full-time job and other commitments, it was difficult to find enough time to study. However, I was determined to succeed, and I made sure to prioritize my studies and allocate sufficient time for each subject.

Strategies

Time Management: I used a planner to schedule my study sessions and stick to my timeline. I also made sure to take regular breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my mental and physical health.

Revision: I revised my notes regularly and practiced as many questions as possible. I also made sure to review my weak areas and focus on improving them.

Mock Interviews: I prepared for the mock interviews by practicing with my friends and family. I also watched videos and read articles to get an idea of the types of questions that were being asked.

Interview Experience

My interview experience was quite nerve-wracking, but I tried to stay calm and composed. I answered the questions to the best of my ability and tried to showcase my knowledge and skills. The panel asked me a range of questions, from current affairs to general studies, and I made sure to answer each one confidently.

Success

Securing AIR 92: I was overjoyed when I received the news that I had secured AIR 92. It was a moment of great pride and satisfaction, and I felt a sense of accomplishment. I realized that all my hard work and dedication had paid off, and I was one step closer to achieving my dream.

Lessons Learned: Looking back, I realize that my success was not just due to my hard work, but also due to my ability to stay focused and motivated. I learned the importance of time management, revision, and practice, and I made sure to apply these lessons in my future endeavors.
