AIR 21 • UPSC CSE 2023 • Optional: Chemistry
I come from a humble background, and my parents always encouraged me to pursue my dreams. I was born and brought up in Jaipur, Rajasthan, and my early education was from local schools. I was always fascinated by science and mathematics, and I decided to pursue a career in engineering.
I completed my engineering from IIT, Bombay, and then I started preparing for the UPSC CSE exam. I had a clear study plan, which included a thorough understanding of the syllabus, a well-structured time table, and a consistent approach to revision. I also made sure to take breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my physical and mental health.
The biggest challenge I faced during my preparation was the vastness of the syllabus and the limited time available. I had to manage my time effectively and prioritize my studies. I also had to deal with self-doubt and anxiety, which were common during the preparation phase.
I used a combination of online and offline resources for my preparation. I relied heavily on NCERT books, standard textbooks, and online study materials. I also attended coaching classes and interacted with my peers to clarify doubts and gain insights. I made sure to revise regularly and practice previous year's question papers to assess my performance.
The interview experience was a mix of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and anxiety. I was well-prepared for the interview, and I made sure to answer each question confidently and clearly. I was asked a range of questions, from my background and interests to my views on current issues and policies.
Securing All India Rank 21 was a dream come true for me. It was a result of my hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I am grateful to my family, friends, and mentors who supported me throughout my journey. I hope to inspire others to pursue their dreams and work towards achieving their goals.
