Background

I come from a small town in West Bengal, Siliguri. My family has always been supportive of my dreams, and they encouraged me to pursue a career in civil services. I was fascinated by the idea of serving the nation and making a difference in people's lives. I knew that it wouldn't be easy, but I was determined to give it a try.

Study Plan

I started my preparation about 2 years before the exam. I had a clear idea of what I wanted to achieve, and I made a plan accordingly. I focused on building a strong foundation in general studies, and I also chose mathematics as my optional subject. I knew that it would be challenging, but I was confident that I could do it.

• I created a study schedule that included both theory and practice.
• I divided my time between general studies and optional subjects.
• I made sure to revise my notes regularly and practice as many questions as I could.
• I also joined a coaching institute to get guidance and support.

Challenges

There were several challenges that I faced during my preparation. One of the biggest challenges was time management. I had to balance my studies with other activities, and it was difficult to manage my time effectively. I also faced difficulties in understanding certain concepts, and I had to work hard to overcome them.

• I had to deal with self-doubt and anxiety at times.
• I had to manage my expectations and stay focused on my goals.
• I had to be consistent in my studies and avoid procrastination.

Strategies

I used several strategies to overcome the challenges that I faced. One of the most important strategies was to stay positive and motivated. I surrounded myself with people who were supportive and encouraging, and I made sure to take breaks and relax when I needed to.

• I practiced mindfulness and meditation to stay calm and focused.
• I set realistic goals and celebrated my achievements along the way.
• I sought help and guidance from my teachers and mentors when I needed it.

Interview Experience

The interview experience was nerve-wracking, but it was also an opportunity to showcase my skills and knowledge. I was prepared for the questions that I was asked, and I made sure to answer them confidently and clearly.

• I was asked about my vision for the country and how I planned to achieve it.

Success

I was overjoyed when I received the news that I had secured AIR 25 in the UPSC exam. It was a moment of pure elation, and I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. I knew that it was the result of my hard work and dedication, and I was grateful for the opportunity to serve the nation.
