Background

My journey to UPSC CSE 2023 began with a clear goal in mind - to crack the exam and become a civil servant. I had always been fascinated by the world of governance and public policy, and I knew that this was the perfect opportunity for me to make a difference.

Study Plan

My study plan was a well-structured one, with a clear focus on each stage of the exam. I started by preparing for the UPSC CSE Preliminary Examination, which is the first stage of the exam. I focused on building a strong foundation in General Studies, which includes subjects like History, Geography, Economics, and Polity.

• I spent around 8-10 hours a day studying for the Preliminary Examination.
• I followed a strict study schedule, with a focus on completing my notes and revising them regularly.
• I also made sure to take breaks and engage in physical activities to maintain my physical and mental health.

Challenges

The journey to UPSC CSE 2023 was not an easy one. There were many challenges that I faced along the way, including self-doubt, lack of motivation, and difficulty in managing my time.

• Self-doubt: There were times when I felt like giving up, especially when I saw my friends and peers performing better than me.
• Lack of motivation: I had to constantly motivate myself to stay on track and maintain my focus.
• Time management: Managing my time effectively was a challenge, especially when I had to balance my studies with other responsibilities.

Strategies

To overcome these challenges, I employed several strategies that helped me stay focused and motivated.

• Short notes: I made short notes of the key points that I wanted to remember, which helped me revise my notes quickly.
• Continuous revision: I made sure to revise my notes regularly, which helped me retain the information better.
• Writing practice: I practiced writing essays and answers, which helped me improve my writing skills.

Interview Experience

The UPSC CSE Main Examination was a challenging experience, but it was also an opportunity for me to showcase my skills and knowledge.

• Interview questions: The interview questions were challenging, but I was well-prepared for them.
• Body language: I made sure to maintain a positive body language throughout the interview.
• Answering questions: I answered the questions confidently and clearly, which helped me make a good impression.

Success

Securing AIR 29 in UPSC CSE 2023 was a dream come true for me. It was a result of my hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
