AIR 43 • UPSC CSE 2024 • Optional: Geography
I've always been fascinated by history, and I knew I wanted to pursue it as my optional subject for the UPSC CSE exam. Growing up in Pune, I was surrounded by historical landmarks and monuments, which only fueled my interest.
My study plan was quite aggressive, with a focus on completing the syllabus within a set timeframe. I would wake up early every morning, spend a few hours studying, and then take a break before resuming my studies in the evening. I also made sure to allocate dedicated time for revision and practice.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing my studies with other aspects of my life. As a student, it's easy to get caught up in the daily routine and forget about other important things. I had to make a conscious effort to prioritize my studies and stay focused.
The interview experience was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I was nervous, but I tried to stay calm and focused. The panel asked me a range of questions, from general knowledge to specific topics related to my optional subject.
Securing AIR 43 in the UPSC CSE exam was a dream come true. It was the result of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I'm proud of what I achieved, and I hope my story can inspire others to pursue their goals.
