I've always been fascinated by the world of Geography, and I knew from a young age that I wanted to pursue a career in this field. Growing up, I was always drawn to the natural world and loved learning about different cultures and landscapes. As I began my preparation for the UPSC exam, I knew that I had to focus on Geography if I wanted to stand out from the crowd.

Study Plan

My study plan was a crucial part of my success. I spent countless hours poring over textbooks, notes, and online resources, making sure that I had a deep understanding of the subject matter. I also made sure to set aside dedicated time for practice questions and mock exams, which helped me to identify my strengths and weaknesses. I was determined to make the most of my time and to stay focused on my goals.

Challenges

Of course, there were many challenges along the way. One of the biggest hurdles I faced was staying motivated and focused. It's easy to get bogged down in the monotony of studying, but I knew that I had to stay positive and keep pushing forward. I also had to deal with self-doubt and imposter syndrome, but I reminded myself that everyone feels this way at some point in their journey.

Strategies

So, what worked for me? Consistency was key. I made sure to set aside dedicated time for studying every day, even if it was just for a few hours. I also made sure to take breaks and practice self-care, which helped me to stay refreshed and focused. Another important strategy was active learning. I didn't just read through my notes passively - I engaged with the material by summarizing it in my own words, creating concept maps, and making flashcards.

Interview Experience

The interview itself was a daunting experience, but I was well-prepared. I had practiced answering common interview questions and had developed a range of strategies for dealing with unexpected queries. When the interviewer asked me about my strengths and weaknesses, I was able to confidently discuss my skills and areas for improvement. I also made sure to ask thoughtful questions and engage with the interviewer, which helped to build rapport and show my enthusiasm for the role.
