I had always been fascinated by the world of governance and public administration, and I wanted to be a part of it.\n\nMy Optional Subject: Sociology\n\nI chose Sociology as my optional subject because I found it fascinating and relevant to the current times. I had studied it in college, and I felt confident that I could excel in it.\n\n### Study Plan\n\nMy study plan was quite rigorous. I started preparing for the exam six months before the actual date. I created a detailed schedule, allocating specific time slots for each subject and topic. I also made sure to allocate time for revision and practice.\n\n- 6 Months Before the Exam: I started by revising the entire syllabus, making notes and creating a concept map.
- 3 Months Before the Exam: I started practicing mock tests and previous year papers to get a feel of the actual exam.
- 1 Month Before the Exam: I focused on revising my notes and practicing weak areas.
Challenges\n\nThere were several challenges that I faced during my preparation. One of the biggest challenges was time management. With a full-time job and other commitments, it was difficult to allocate enough time for studying. I had to be very disciplined and stick to my schedule.\n\nAnother challenge was dealing with self-doubt and anxiety. There were times when I felt overwhelmed and unsure if I was doing enough. But I didn't give up. I kept pushing myself, and I eventually saw progress.\n\n### Strategies\n\nMy strategy was to align my notes with PYQ trends. I made sure to study the topics that were frequently asked in previous years and to create one-pager notes for every topic.
