AIR 29 • UPSC CSE 2024 • Optional: Geography
I've always been fascinated by the world of Geography. Growing up, I spent hours poring over maps and reading about different cultures. This curiosity eventually led me to pursue a degree in Geography, which laid the foundation for my UPSC journey.
My study plan was centered around creating a balanced schedule that allowed me to cover all the subjects. I divided my day into three main blocks: morning, afternoon, and evening. The morning block was dedicated to current affairs, while the afternoon block was for static subjects like Geography and History. The evening block was reserved for revision and practice questions.
There were several challenges that I faced during my preparation. One of the biggest hurdles was staying motivated. With a long and grueling study schedule, it was easy to get discouraged and lose focus. However, I made sure to reward myself regularly and take breaks to maintain my mental health.
To overcome the challenges, I employed several strategies. Firstly, I made sure to set realistic goals and deadlines for myself. This helped me stay focused and motivated, even on the toughest days. Secondly, I created a study group with fellow aspirants, which provided me with a sense of community and support. Finally, I made sure to take care of my physical and mental health by exercising regularly and getting enough sleep.
The interview experience was a rollercoaster of emotions. I was nervous and anxious, but also excited to share my thoughts and ideas with the panel. The questions were challenging, but I was well-prepared and able to answer them confidently. The key to acing the interview, in my opinion, is to be honest and authentic. Don't try to fake it or pretend to be someone you're not. Be yourself, and let your passion and enthusiasm shine through.
My success in the UPSC exam is a testament to the power of hard work and determination. It's not just about studying hard, but also about staying motivated and focused. I believe that anyone can achieve their goals with the right mindset and strategy. So, don't be afraid to take the leap and pursue your dreams.
