AIR 100 • UPSC CSE 2023 • Optional: Law
I come from a small town in Karnataka, Hubballi. Growing up, I was always fascinated by the world of governance and law. I pursued my passion for law by graduating from Gujarat National Law University in 2019. After completing my graduation, I worked for a brief period before deciding to take the UPSC CSE exam.
My study plan was quite traditional. I followed a routine of 8-10 hours of study per day, 6 days a week. I started preparing for the exam 12 months before the actual date. I focused on completing the syllabus first and then started practicing mock tests. I used to give at least 2-3 mock tests every week.
The biggest challenge I faced was time management. With a 12-month study plan, it was easy to get complacent and procrastinate. I had to constantly remind myself of my goals and stay focused. Another challenge I faced was the lack of guidance. I was a self-study candidate, and I didn't have a mentor or a study group to guide me.
Key to my success was my ability to stay consistent. I made sure to study every day, even if it was just for an hour. I also made sure to review my notes regularly to prevent any last-minute cramming. Another strategy that worked for me was practicing mock tests. I used to give at least 2-3 mock tests every week, which helped me identify my weaknesses and improve my time management skills.
My interview experience was quite smooth. I was well-prepared for the questions, and I was able to answer them confidently. The panel members were friendly and asked me questions that were relevant to my profile.
My success in the UPSC CSE exam was a result of my hard work and dedication. I was able to secure All India Rank 100, which was a dream come true for me. I am grateful to my family and friends who supported me throughout my journey. I am also grateful to the UPSC for providing me with this opportunity to serve the nation.
\n\n### Additional Tips
\n\n### Conclusion
My journey to becoming a UPSC CSE topper was not easy. It required a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. However, the end result was worth it. I am grateful to have had this opportunity to share my story with you, and I hope that it inspires you to work towards your goals.
